i love how the plot and features make it look like a normal otome game while it is far from that!

i was looking for an otome game, but i didn't have anything in mind, so i just went to my old collection and started read all the vns' plot i had added. obviously, i started downloading them one by one and found this. i read this page from start to end and didn't really find anything intriguing, except the character designs (i literally started simping for all of theme as soon as i saw and read about them). i finally reached the walkthrough column and learned that i am supposed to play this blindly. (this kind of piqued my interest) and saw a warning that the comment section is filled with spoilers. on this, i launched it (i paused fujiwara bittersweet and tokimeki memorial girl's side to play this) and GOD it was worth it!
i played this in the order: adrien<callum<chase (idk why i chose chase last T_T) and remember: i played this game blindly: without an spoilers.
but before all that, i decided to stay home (man what does a tired working woman even do on holidays!?) and the game just ended like THAT with me getting a bad end for sleeping!?
after that, i went with adrien's route (i was kind of interested in him and thought that he was a playboy) and i found him kinda cute that he was blushing and all and asked for my number (no, i did not find his smile creepy at all) maybe because of the impression i made of him in my eyes and i'm glad i did that (i didn't want to spoil myself in any way by predicting the twist) naturally, i was aware that there was a plot twist ahead but didn't know what exactly it was (it was almost impossible to predict because i really liked the heroine: especially her personality.
but THEN, just THEN i realized that adrien was my stalker! because i've seen twists like these in mangas, animes, etc and i'm gonna admit that it was kind of predictable, but did not ruin my expectations. i got a hint of this when he literally came to my office to pick me us at that time and was acting kind of obsessive towards me. but i did not expect him to be that messed up (but i'm really into yans soooo yeah, valid) except the fact that he broke up with me for his band. i was like 'girl, yanderes don't do this' (guess i was too normal for him in the neutral end) though i really liked his bandmates. they were so cool and chill like ('wish i could date one of them' -- is the thought i had because i was too innocent for this world. and in the good end (god the heroine opened the door of something inside me that should have been closed off forever)
overall, i really liked adrien's route (honestly all of them) and the CGs were a piece of artwork (especially in the fireflies scene) and hope you will make another game as you said in the bonus.

my reviews are generally really long but there's no one i can talk to openly about this T_T (they'd just say: girl it ain't real that's why i don't talk about my interests to anyone irl)
now, back to the topic.
i did not expect all the good endings to be the same but that's the point! the heroine is supposed to be a spice in the spice world and *literally* spice up her bland life (and yes, the c*nnibal*sm idea was brilliant)!
i really liked callum (he was such a sweet dilf like kyaaaaaa)especially in the scene when he lends his jacket to the heroine (hail the CGs) and those CGs have the ability to deceive even the knowledgable.
i really felt bad for him after learning of his backstory and could not believe that the heroine was so heartless that she would kill and eat him (but spices>>>>>>>sweet, lovely and hot guys, you know?) and as expected, she did exactly that! (phil T_T)
overall, i also liked his route and LOVED julia (i love crybaby teenage girls) and yeah, i'm straight.
and last, but not the least: MY SWEETHEART CHASE!
though his was the shortest of the routes but i loved him the most! (i love tsunderes too!) and DAMN he was so sweet i couldn't stop thinking about him, but y'know? the neutral routes? literally no one is talking about them in the comments, like why do the hotties just disappear from my life when all i do is accept their proposals (like why??????)
and i loved the overly-dramatic CG (when he protected her from the ball) and felt like i was reading a shoujo manga and he was not as route and tsundere as i thought! he kind of talked to me about this family issues and all and i fell for him all over again after seeing his moe sprite and wanted more of him... but it is what it is.
i also did not expect his route to end like everyone else's (i don't know why i was opposed to the other good endings when this game is supposed to be a freaking thriller) but somewhere in my heart, i still feel like chase and callum did not deserve this (yes, adrien did. i have a love-hate relationship with him for abandoning me like that, though his puns had me wheezing) but all three of them technically abandoned me but i don't know why i only hate adrien for the act. honestly, i was kind of disappointed in chase because he was the only one so fit and strong and i thought that he would free himself and change her, (but i read in the bonus that 'we don't need an "i will change you" man') though it would not be suitable for a tsundere man and my opinion would be the same anyway, so this game is okay as it is.
i also really liked his route and LOVED his confession at sunrise (obviously, the CGs were awesome and i have screenshots of almost all of them) and because he's a tsundere. so yeah, good work for the writing though i don't know what crazy person is reading to this far but if someone is, please accept my sincere thanks.
i really liked the interface after completing all the endings as it showed the true colours of this otome game and of course, the special ending. honestly, it did not occur to me that the guy was phil until i read the comments but the 'my dad doesn't like fish' somehow sounded familiar. the special ending was solid.
i will always support you three (though i'm basically saying that i have free time in my hands and i'll play your games whenever) and would play the sequel game if you ever release it!
(though i'm rambling about by myself and i'm pretty sure no one's actually reading)

i'm really sorry to say this, but the heroine kind of reminds me of narumi from wotakoi, like an office woman and trust me, even though narumi was so cheerful, i still felt kinda creepy lookiing into her empty eyes and chase kinda reminds me of kabakura-senpai from the same anime and i imagine if callum was a milf insted of a dilf, he would look like hana-chan from the same anime. (i'm truly sorry)

this was so good!! loved the art and how different all they guys are (would also have loved a milf but still so slay, we love dilfs too) but omg i dropped my jaw to the floor after i finished my first good end, sat there for a whole minute just staring lolz but kept playing and loved it all !! and the special ending too omgg it was the perfect ending <33

Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry to my family and neighbors (for context the special end left me screaming. I'm so sorry Phil.) I'm DEFINITELY a completionist type person so I went through all the good endings starting with Callum to get that special ending and... MY. GOD.
My heart can't take it. T^T I did Adrian's route after Callum's and it was funny how I'd go from heart pounding affection for cute guys, to pure agony when thinking about their fate, to "OH HELL YEAH, I DON'T CONDONE HIS ACTIONS BUT THEY'RE KINDA PERFECT FOR EACHOTHER!"
Anyway! My heart has been stomped on repeatedly, so I'm gonna go ahead and uhhh... do the neutral endings.

This was an absolute delight of a game to play through !! I got all the endings (except for Chase and Callum's "good" endings) by myself without any help and GAH !!! That was so much fun !!! The character writing and the twist were all magnificent !!! Chase was the only one I felt absolutely gutted with his ending with. I did his neutral route after the obligatory "What if I stay home?" ending and OHVFYJ#HEVF HE'S MY ABBY I LOVE HIM OMFG--Chase is a sweetheart, if a little hot-headed and he's so sweet and he's living with his aunt and uncle because of familial issues and he's so SWEET !! Bro he plays sports and he likes watching the sun rise !! His confession was so sweet and GODS the BETRAYAL was so REAL with him in the "good" ending. GODS I FELT SO BAD !! His was the one to actually gut me, and his "good" ending was the one I got second !! I also can't help but wonder for Aunt Cindy and Uncle (forgot his name) after Chase goes missing like... Gods, imagine? The nephew they took in suddenly disappearing off the radar ? Devastating blow, I--HE WAS THE ONLY ONE TO TRY THE FOOD PROPERLY !!! Callum only does it once he's pretty much dead if you decide 'yes' and Adrian only drank the tea... Chase was the only one who ate Riolle's (which is what I named her/me) food and she--No, I'm still not over his death, he's my boi !! My precious charismatic if foul-mouthed !! He's got a charm to him! I didn't even realise he was one of the shorter stories lol, I love him so much.
I actually got Adrian's neutral and "good" (though, tbf, his good doesn't need quotations cuz man was living his best life to die by MC's hand like--Mans was so chill with it, it was kinda funny? Good for him, y'know.) The POV switch when I unlocked his good ending scared the crap out of me. I had to take a couple clicks to realise OMG IS THIS A POV SWITCH ??? And then he's like "And then she came in." and casually drops he stalks her. (I pieced it together easily with the TW and his demeanour throughout the dates) Honestly, slay for him to be into it. But like, damn dude, what a taste to have. . . RIP his band though lol, they're down a guitarist. I actually really liked the bandmates !! They seemed really chill and I just <3 them You know what made me swoon for Adrian initially? THE CUP PUNS !!! I love puns so much and they took me OUT--I was cooing so loud at that, like, OMG??? It's so sillys and pos !! And then the red flags popped up and I lost interest but I can't deny he was very fun to play through <3 And as I said !! He was the only one I didn't need assistance to find the right options for :D !!!
Now... Callum... he didn't peak my interest as much as Chase, but that's because I'm just not into older men/DILF's LMAO. Which is fair, I'd say. I think he's a sweetheart and his wife, Hannah, sounded like a sweetheart. Bless her heart and may she rest in pieces--SORRY, peace :> Phil is also an utter sweetheart, and I adore their little family. Callum is such a kind soul, even after Hannah's death. It broke my heart a little to read how people treated him in his single dad status, but gah, it's so real. Callum deserved better than Riolle, and Phil didn't deserve to lose his dad like that. Also, yeah, not Riolle's smartest move to kill Callum like that. It's very easy to narrow down a suspect if Callum dropped Phil off at Phil's grandparents to meet with her before suddenly going :sparkles:MISSING:sparkles: like. Callum is NOT the type to suddenly abandon his son. He took care of him for 7 years, and never gave up, continuing to put on a brave face. Something HAD to tear him from Phil's side, and Phil knows it. Gods that final ending cutscene is just PERFECTION !! I kinda like the insinuation that Riolle (again, what I named my character) ends up going for all of them? Like, it's implied by her "Now to rinse and repeat <3" ending lines in each run, but it kinda confirms it for me for Phil to show up at her doorstep after you complete any of your third "good" endings!! It's kinda like?? Really nice unintentional maybe storytelling to show that, even if we don't do it, after every run she takes out the other two, because she's a serial spice-collector.
Now with the character stuff out of the way, HOLY CRAP ALL THE DESIGNS ARE SO GORGEOUS ??? I didn't realise there was an album until finishing the walkthrough and seeing it at the bottom. So whilst I was playing, I was saving at every Pretty Artwork I could (o7 to the text blocking some of it out) in the 9th page save slot. Bcuz I was just admiring the gorgeous colours, shading, designs and emotive faces. It was so beautiful !! The album was like an amazing bonus to me. I CAN SEE THE PRETTY PICTURES IN THEIR FULL GLORY !!! Amazing, 10/10, glorious.
Seeing the BTS was amazing too, I love seeing the process of the way things get made, and I hope you guys are still Still friends. Cuz this game is so neat and absolutely made my day that much brighter !! I added it to my personal collection as soon as I was done. So SO good, so worth it.
insanely, one of the best shortest completed otomes ive ever played. twist was fun and not too serious since they turned into a literal spice after. script was insanely cute and i fell in love with everyone, especially adrian (yep, he's straight out of an otome) until he was crazy but his confession? I TEARED UP. THAT'S HOW GOOD IT GOT ME. totally agree that the art style is so perfect for otome vn. love love loved this and will definitely play games from you guys in the future !!
As the author of Adrian's route i just wanted to say... Thank you. HAHAHA i spent ages on the confession scene (even just coming up with it) because all we had in our plans was "motorbike, surprise location, hinthint he's crazy for u". So to hear it made someone Feel So Much makes me feel so much too >.<

Honestly after the first good ending I had to put my laptop away for a while I was just in so much shock! It's so rare that I play a game and get *that* surprised by the end. I loved this!!
Wow I was got good,,,but still the game was really good! I played through Adrian's route first and there were some hints but ultimately I only got it at the end. It was a fun but unexpected game though a part of me feels especially sad for Callum and Chase :( Your characters are all very charming so would you ever think of releasing some early sketches, or how production went? As for behind the scenes, it's actually present in the game! After you unlock all three good ends, there'll be a "Bonus" button that's clickable in the Album room. There you get to see me talk about the game's development while half sleep deprived at the end of jam and show early sketches.
But yes, we decided from the beginning that MC would be the villain. Personally I hate writing romance (LOL), I only wrote it for the gimmick. In fact, it was the only thing driving me forward at some points. "Wow, I'm so tired to write their route.... BUT I get to kill them at the end WOO let's go!!!" Yeah, I'm a completely normal game dev. ππππ
THE PLOT TWIST, IM IN SHOCK. DEVELOPER, WELL DONE. After the first play through every other route became almost a private joke between me and black pepper.
I didn't expect to like this game so much but oh my gosh! I ended up loving it because of the unique twist (the MC is actually the bad guy/"yandere"), and I came into this game as a Callum stan but left as a Chase stan LOL well done everyone! Wonderful game! (p.s. didn't expect Adrian to be batshit crazy)
Also I found a typo during Adrian's firefly date! The text box calls him "Anise" instead of Adrian, and I thought I saw wrong for a second. Unless this was actually further foreshadowing for MC only viewing the boys as their spice type, and not as actual humans?
We're very happy you liked the game!!!! We weren't expecting that many people to be a fan of the ending (in fact, we expected that people would have hated it) so we're relieved that that isn't the case.
Regarding the typo, it's not intentional πππ It's a combination of us referring to them by their spice names during conceptualisation and not having the time to proofread for the game jam. In fact, we only came up with their actual names right before actually writing. After playing the game with our friends and finding a disturbing amount of typos, we'll be publishing a mini update this weekend to fix them.

This game checks all the points in a good Visual Novel game, it looks lovely, nice characters, great story telling, beautiful CG's and a nice sense of humor, but wait, there is more, actually so much more.
I choose Adrian because, well, he looked cute, and somehow he ended up being cool too? HOW, the dates were really enjoyable, I may have fallen for him just a little bit, but in hindsight some things felt just a little bit off (in a good way).
As the game progressed black pepper became more relatable until she well, uh, spiced her live, after the perspective switch to Adrian he also was kinda relatable (Don't show me cute crazy girls, my brain turned off for a moment there!), drinking the tea, all the plotwists in this game, the actual nice romance story and all the underlying clues, it is hard to believe that this is someones first game experience, and just in 2 weeks? A M A Z I N G. I wish I could give a more detailed review but after Black Pepper revealed her true self my brain kinda just became a love spice mush.
This game is really a roller-coaster of emotions, and when of course there are things I can nitpick at (like some backgrounds) nothing really affects or diminishes the game experience and the overall game is so good; I am pretty used to playing indie otome games and got in expecting a standard experience, oh boy was I in for a big surprise, granted I only played Adrian route due to time constraints, I do plan on playing the rest of the game on my own since I want that juicy extra ending!
PS: Not that it really affects anything about the game but one of the tracks of the game seem to be copyrighted (Night Street Ashot Danielyan), sometimes is nice to know that before hand.

We didn't consider people would be playing our game on YouTube so we didn't think it was an issue when using it. We are planning on making a mini update this weekend (sorry it can't be any earlier because we are dying with work now) changing that one soundtrack and correcting some typos. Maaan, I love chilli just as much as I loved Chase, I would be crying as I poured chilli on my mango if I was the MC.
I liked more the dilf route than I thought at first, he's just tired man. Also, I love the fact that it showed us that the MC actions could have consequences she might not be ready to handle, it made the game a little bit spicer.
At the end I sympathized with the MC ngl, I would lose my shit too if I had to eat as if I was stuck in england my entire life.

The first route i completed was Chase(hes so cute i luv him) and like- I was ready for a typical happy ending(i couldn't be more wrong) so when the mc said that she's gonna kill him, i was...FLABERGASTED, to say the least??JAJA (my face was these emojis:π§π¦ππ¨) i did all the routes and aaAAH SO GOOD SO YUMMY. The short answer is yes, Phil knows you killed his dad, or at least suspects it.
MC never gets caught for any of her crimes so there's no confirmation for Phil, but the teen that gives MC the food in the special end is Phil. He talks about how his household has leftover fish because his father doesn't like it. The thing is, his father is dead (because.... we killed him, oops) so the only reason he's sharing that information with MC is because he knows MC knew that Callum didn't like fish.
Yeah it's a bit of a stretch but basically that's it. MC doesn't really remember Phil because at that point she's gone through a lot of people and Phil probably looks different from what she remembers. I've considered making a mini sequel to this game where you play as Phil and try to bust the MC, but time... and resources... *dies*

Phil has great grandparents he'll be fine π (copium). We never really considered the scale or how long MC goes for because our brains just wanted to finish the game LOL, so yeah anything past this game will be new if we ever do anything else with it.
In terms of making games, I think it'll be quite hard for the three of us to come together and do something like this again because of our cursed schedules. Individually, we might make something of our own(?) but that's also up in the air. I won't speak for the other two.
I'll be making a short shitpost game for SuNoFes 2023. iamsomebody 6 and me are also picking up the RPGMaker game we ditched 2 years ago because of our bet. Neither of these games will be otome, or have anything to do with romance (because frankly speaking romance is my kryptonite), but if you liked the humour in this game then maybe the other games are also up your alley. The game is pretty long for a game jam because it just so happened that we were on holiday during this period of time, so we had a lot more time to work on it. The chance that this could happen again is pretty low imo so if you want to see something like this again, it's time to make prayers and sacrifices to whatever gods you know- (joke)
I'm also glad that you think the development was written very nicely, because to be very honest I wrote it while running on four hours of sleep on the last day of the jam π€‘. Anyway once again thank you so much for your good comments. It really means a lot to us.

Yeah, Callum's route is probably the saddest in the sense that he didn't deserve it the most. The decision to do that was mine, kinda. The whole theme we had (or I had) while producing this game was "we support women's rights AND women's wrongs" so I wanted to make the MC absolutely irredeemable.
I think with both Chase and Adrian's routes you could argue that the MC was somewhat justified (Chase being an ass and Adrian being... Adrian), so I wanted a route where you couldn't argue that at all. Sorry Phil, but sacrifices must be made for the greater good. π
HAHAHA genuinely when I got a notification of this comment I thought we had found someone that hated this game. But before anyone else downvotes the above comment, OP actually gave our game a 5 star rating.

I went in fully blind (great decision) and I got Chase's Neutral Ending first, so I truly thought it was just a regular lovely dating sim game ... until I got Chase's Good Ending and my jaw dropped. Didn't expect it one bit (in hindsight maybe I should have lol) but it was so well done! The characters are very interesting (and so pretty, I love the art styles!!) and the writing felt so natural. I truly had such a fun time playing it. (still recovering from Adrian's Good Ending tho ...omg) ALSO reading about the development and concept of the game in the bonus was super interesting!! Thank you for sharing :)
Oh my god thank you so much for all the good feedback about our game aaaaa- Especially the parts about the writing: personally I was very concerned if it flowed well, especially since we didn't really have the time to revise concepts or edit due to the 2 week limit we had (and also because I just don't have any experience) so hearing this makes me really happy.

I only have one thing to say: I'M SHOCKED! (and I loved this game, I can't even choose a fav boy, love them all <3)
i love how the plot and features make it look like a normal otome game while it is far from that!
::SPOILERS AHEAD::
i was looking for an otome game, but i didn't have anything in mind, so i just went to my old collection and started read all the vns' plot i had added. obviously, i started downloading them one by one and found this. i read this page from start to end and didn't really find anything intriguing, except the character designs (i literally started simping for all of theme as soon as i saw and read about them). i finally reached the walkthrough column and learned that i am supposed to play this blindly. (this kind of piqued my interest) and saw a warning that the comment section is filled with spoilers. on this, i launched it (i paused fujiwara bittersweet and tokimeki memorial girl's side to play this) and GOD it was worth it!
i played this in the order: adrien<callum<chase (idk why i chose chase last T_T) and remember: i played this game blindly: without an spoilers.
but before all that, i decided to stay home (man what does a tired working woman even do on holidays!?) and the game just ended like THAT with me getting a bad end for sleeping!?
after that, i went with adrien's route (i was kind of interested in him and thought that he was a playboy) and i found him kinda cute that he was blushing and all and asked for my number (no, i did not find his smile creepy at all) maybe because of the impression i made of him in my eyes and i'm glad i did that (i didn't want to spoil myself in any way by predicting the twist) naturally, i was aware that there was a plot twist ahead but didn't know what exactly it was (it was almost impossible to predict because i really liked the heroine: especially her personality.
but THEN, just THEN i realized that adrien was my stalker! because i've seen twists like these in mangas, animes, etc and i'm gonna admit that it was kind of predictable, but did not ruin my expectations. i got a hint of this when he literally came to my office to pick me us at that time and was acting kind of obsessive towards me. but i did not expect him to be that messed up (but i'm really into yans soooo yeah, valid) except the fact that he broke up with me for his band. i was like 'girl, yanderes don't do this' (guess i was too normal for him in the neutral end) though i really liked his bandmates. they were so cool and chill like ('wish i could date one of them' -- is the thought i had because i was too innocent for this world. and in the good end (god the heroine opened the door of something inside me that should have been closed off forever)
overall, i really liked adrien's route (honestly all of them) and the CGs were a piece of artwork (especially in the fireflies scene) and hope you will make another game as you said in the bonus.
~NOPE, THE REVIEW DOESN'T END HERE~
my reviews are generally really long but there's no one i can talk to openly about this T_T (they'd just say: girl it ain't real that's why i don't talk about my interests to anyone irl)
now, back to the topic.
i did not expect all the good endings to be the same but that's the point! the heroine is supposed to be a spice in the spice world and *literally* spice up her bland life (and yes, the c*nnibal*sm idea was brilliant)!
i really liked callum (he was such a sweet dilf like kyaaaaaa)especially in the scene when he lends his jacket to the heroine (hail the CGs) and those CGs have the ability to deceive even the knowledgable.
i really felt bad for him after learning of his backstory and could not believe that the heroine was so heartless that she would kill and eat him (but spices>>>>>>>sweet, lovely and hot guys, you know?) and as expected, she did exactly that! (phil T_T)
overall, i also liked his route and LOVED julia (i love crybaby teenage girls) and yeah, i'm straight.
and last, but not the least: MY SWEETHEART CHASE!
though his was the shortest of the routes but i loved him the most! (i love tsunderes too!) and DAMN he was so sweet i couldn't stop thinking about him, but y'know? the neutral routes? literally no one is talking about them in the comments, like why do the hotties just disappear from my life when all i do is accept their proposals (like why??????)
and i loved the overly-dramatic CG (when he protected her from the ball) and felt like i was reading a shoujo manga and he was not as route and tsundere as i thought! he kind of talked to me about this family issues and all and i fell for him all over again after seeing his moe sprite and wanted more of him... but it is what it is.
i also did not expect his route to end like everyone else's (i don't know why i was opposed to the other good endings when this game is supposed to be a freaking thriller) but somewhere in my heart, i still feel like chase and callum did not deserve this (yes, adrien did. i have a love-hate relationship with him for abandoning me like that, though his puns had me wheezing) but all three of them technically abandoned me but i don't know why i only hate adrien for the act. honestly, i was kind of disappointed in chase because he was the only one so fit and strong and i thought that he would free himself and change her, (but i read in the bonus that 'we don't need an "i will change you" man') though it would not be suitable for a tsundere man and my opinion would be the same anyway, so this game is okay as it is.
i also really liked his route and LOVED his confession at sunrise (obviously, the CGs were awesome and i have screenshots of almost all of them) and because he's a tsundere. so yeah, good work for the writing though i don't know what crazy person is reading to this far but if someone is, please accept my sincere thanks.
i really liked the interface after completing all the endings as it showed the true colours of this otome game and of course, the special ending. honestly, it did not occur to me that the guy was phil until i read the comments but the 'my dad doesn't like fish' somehow sounded familiar. the special ending was solid.
i will always support you three (though i'm basically saying that i have free time in my hands and i'll play your games whenever) and would play the sequel game if you ever release it!
(though i'm rambling about by myself and i'm pretty sure no one's actually reading)
but still thank you for making this game free and the art, CGs, storyline (the plot is pretty unique) and plot twists (again, the c*nnibal*sm idea was great)!
i'm really sorry to say this, but the heroine kind of reminds me of narumi from wotakoi, like an office woman and trust me, even though narumi was so cheerful, i still felt kinda creepy lookiing into her empty eyes and chase kinda reminds me of kabakura-senpai from the same anime and i imagine if callum was a milf insted of a dilf, he would look like hana-chan from the same anime. (i'm truly sorry)
this is kind of an awkward way to end this, but bye... and... um... have a nice day... i guess? (i don't know how to end this because i already said the words to end a review beforehand T_T) um.. okay... REALLY BYE!
this was so good!! loved the art and how different all they guys are (would also have loved a milf but still so slay, we love dilfs too) but omg i dropped my jaw to the floor after i finished my first good end, sat there for a whole minute just staring lolz but kept playing and loved it all !! and the special ending too omgg it was the perfect ending <33

Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry to my family and neighbors (for context the special end left me screaming. I'm so sorry Phil.) I'm DEFINITELY a completionist type person so I went through all the good endings starting with Callum to get that special ending and... MY. GOD.
My heart can't take it. T^T I did Adrian's route after Callum's and it was funny how I'd go from heart pounding affection for cute guys, to pure agony when thinking about their fate, to "OH HELL YEAH, I DON'T CONDONE HIS ACTIONS BUT THEY'RE KINDA PERFECT FOR EACHOTHER!"
Anyway! My heart has been stomped on repeatedly, so I'm gonna go ahead and uhhh... do the neutral endings.
Edit: I'm done! That was fun! I'll probably revisit every now and then for the cute guys lol

This was an absolute delight of a game to play through !! I got all the endings (except for Chase and Callum's "good" endings) by myself without any help and GAH !!! That was so much fun !!! The character writing and the twist were all magnificent !!! Chase was the only one I felt absolutely gutted with his ending with. I did his neutral route after the obligatory "What if I stay home?" ending and OHVFYJ#HEVF HE'S MY ABBY I LOVE HIM OMFG--Chase is a sweetheart, if a little hot-headed and he's so sweet and he's living with his aunt and uncle because of familial issues and he's so SWEET !! Bro he plays sports and he likes watching the sun rise !! His confession was so sweet and GODS the BETRAYAL was so REAL with him in the "good" ending. GODS I FELT SO BAD !! His was the one to actually gut me, and his "good" ending was the one I got second !!
I also can't help but wonder for Aunt Cindy and Uncle (forgot his name) after Chase goes missing like... Gods, imagine? The nephew they took in suddenly disappearing off the radar ? Devastating blow, I--HE WAS THE ONLY ONE TO TRY THE FOOD PROPERLY !!! Callum only does it once he's pretty much dead if you decide 'yes' and Adrian only drank the tea... Chase was the only one who ate Riolle's (which is what I named her/me) food and she--No, I'm still not over his death, he's my boi !! My precious charismatic if foul-mouthed !! He's got a charm to him! I didn't even realise he was one of the shorter stories lol, I love him so much.
I actually got Adrian's neutral and "good" (though, tbf, his good doesn't need quotations cuz man was living his best life to die by MC's hand like--Mans was so chill with it, it was kinda funny? Good for him, y'know.) The POV switch when I unlocked his good ending scared the crap out of me. I had to take a couple clicks to realise OMG IS THIS A POV SWITCH ??? And then he's like "And then she came in." and casually drops he stalks her. (I pieced it together easily with the TW and his demeanour throughout the dates) Honestly, slay for him to be into it. But like, damn dude, what a taste to have. . . RIP his band though lol, they're down a guitarist. I actually really liked the bandmates !! They seemed really chill and I just <3 them
You know what made me swoon for Adrian initially? THE CUP PUNS !!! I love puns so much and they took me OUT--I was cooing so loud at that, like, OMG??? It's so sillys and pos !! And then the red flags popped up and I lost interest but I can't deny he was very fun to play through <3 And as I said !! He was the only one I didn't need assistance to find the right options for :D !!!
Now... Callum... he didn't peak my interest as much as Chase, but that's because I'm just not into older men/DILF's LMAO. Which is fair, I'd say. I think he's a sweetheart and his wife, Hannah, sounded like a sweetheart. Bless her heart and may she rest in pieces--SORRY, peace :>
Phil is also an utter sweetheart, and I adore their little family. Callum is such a kind soul, even after Hannah's death. It broke my heart a little to read how people treated him in his single dad status, but gah, it's so real. Callum deserved better than Riolle, and Phil didn't deserve to lose his dad like that.
Also, yeah, not Riolle's smartest move to kill Callum like that. It's very easy to narrow down a suspect if Callum dropped Phil off at Phil's grandparents to meet with her before suddenly going :sparkles:MISSING:sparkles: like. Callum is NOT the type to suddenly abandon his son. He took care of him for 7 years, and never gave up, continuing to put on a brave face. Something HAD to tear him from Phil's side, and Phil knows it.
Gods that final ending cutscene is just PERFECTION !! I kinda like the insinuation that Riolle (again, what I named my character) ends up going for all of them? Like, it's implied by her "Now to rinse and repeat <3" ending lines in each run, but it kinda confirms it for me for Phil to show up at her doorstep after you complete any of your third "good" endings!! It's kinda like?? Really nice unintentional maybe storytelling to show that, even if we don't do it, after every run she takes out the other two, because she's a serial spice-collector.
Now with the character stuff out of the way, HOLY CRAP ALL THE DESIGNS ARE SO GORGEOUS ??? I didn't realise there was an album until finishing the walkthrough and seeing it at the bottom. So whilst I was playing, I was saving at every Pretty Artwork I could (o7 to the text blocking some of it out) in the 9th page save slot. Bcuz I was just admiring the gorgeous colours, shading, designs and emotive faces. It was so beautiful !! The album was like an amazing bonus to me. I CAN SEE THE PRETTY PICTURES IN THEIR FULL GLORY !!! Amazing, 10/10, glorious.
Seeing the BTS was amazing too, I love seeing the process of the way things get made, and I hope you guys are still Still friends. Cuz this game is so neat and absolutely made my day that much brighter !! I added it to my personal collection as soon as I was done. So SO good, so worth it.

insanely, one of the best shortest completed otomes ive ever played. twist was fun and not too serious since they turned into a literal spice after. script was insanely cute and i fell in love with everyone, especially adrian (yep, he's straight out of an otome) until he was crazy but his confession? I TEARED UP. THAT'S HOW GOOD IT GOT ME. totally agree that the art style is so perfect for otome vn. love love loved this and will definitely play games from you guys in the future !!
As the author of Adrian's route i just wanted to say... Thank you. HAHAHA i spent ages on the confession scene (even just coming up with it) because all we had in our plans was "motorbike, surprise location, hinthint he's crazy for u". So to hear it made someone Feel So Much makes me feel so much too >.<

I played this game blind and got Chase's Good Ending, all I can say is... I was NOT expecting that to happen lmao. Incredible writing and very unsettling, well done on the twist. I'm wary of playing Callum's route now because of the little one lol.

Honestly after the first good ending I had to put my laptop away for a while I was just in so much shock! It's so rare that I play a game and get *that* surprised by the end. I loved this!!
Wow I was got good,,,but still the game was really good! I played through Adrian's route first and there were some hints but ultimately I only got it at the end. It was a fun but unexpected game though a part of me feels especially sad for Callum and Chase :( Your characters are all very charming so would you ever think of releasing some early sketches, or how production went? I'm also curious if you decided from the beginning that the mc would the villain?

As for behind the scenes, it's actually present in the game! After you unlock all three good ends, there'll be a "Bonus" button that's clickable in the Album room. There you get to see me talk about the game's development while half sleep deprived at the end of jam and show early sketches.
But yes, we decided from the beginning that MC would be the villain. Personally I hate writing romance (LOL), I only wrote it for the gimmick. In fact, it was the only thing driving me forward at some points. "Wow, I'm so tired to write their route.... BUT I get to kill them at the end WOO let's go!!!" Yeah, I'm a completely normal game dev. ππππ

I didn't expect to like this game so much but oh my gosh! I ended up loving it because of the unique twist (the MC is actually the bad guy/"yandere"), and I came into this game as a Callum stan but left as a Chase stan LOL well done everyone! Wonderful game! (p.s. didn't expect Adrian to be batshit crazy)
Also I found a typo during Adrian's firefly date! The text box calls him "Anise" instead of Adrian, and I thought I saw wrong for a second. Unless this was actually further foreshadowing for MC only viewing the boys as their spice type, and not as actual humans?
We're very happy you liked the game!!!! We weren't expecting that many people to be a fan of the ending (in fact, we expected that people would have hated it) so we're relieved that that isn't the case.
Regarding the typo, it's not intentional πππ It's a combination of us referring to them by their spice names during conceptualisation and not having the time to proofread for the game jam. In fact, we only came up with their actual names right before actually writing. After playing the game with our friends and finding a disturbing amount of typos, we'll be publishing a mini update this weekend to fix them.

This game checks all the points in a good Visual Novel game, it looks lovely, nice characters, great story telling, beautiful CG's and a nice sense of humor, but wait, there is more, actually so much more.
I choose Adrian because, well, he looked cute, and somehow he ended up being cool too? HOW, the dates were really enjoyable, I may have fallen for him just a little bit, but in hindsight some things felt just a little bit off (in a good way).
As the game progressed black pepper became more relatable until she well, uh, spiced her live, after the perspective switch to Adrian he also was kinda relatable (Don't show me cute crazy girls, my brain turned off for a moment there!), drinking the tea, all the plotwists in this game, the actual nice romance story and all the underlying clues, it is hard to believe that this is someones first game experience, and just in 2 weeks? A M A Z I N G.
I wish I could give a more detailed review but after Black Pepper revealed her true self my brain kinda just became a love spice mush.
This game is really a roller-coaster of emotions, and when of course there are things I can nitpick at (like some backgrounds) nothing really affects or diminishes the game experience and the overall game is so good; I am pretty used to playing indie otome games and got in expecting a standard experience, oh boy was I in for a big surprise, granted I only played Adrian route due to time constraints, I do plan on playing the rest of the game on my own since I want that juicy extra ending!
PS: Not that it really affects anything about the game but one of the tracks of the game seem to be copyrighted (Night Street Ashot Danielyan), sometimes is nice to know that before hand.Keep up the good work!

With regards to the copyrighted track, we're very sorry!!! The song is royalty-free but it is registered with content ID, making it copyright noticed on YouTube. We didn't consider people would be playing our game on YouTube so we didn't think it was an issue when using it. We are planning on making a mini update this weekend (sorry it can't be any earlier because we are dying with work now) changing that one soundtrack and correcting some typos. So if you want to stream the other routes, you might be able to avoid the copyright notice with our new update!

Maaan, I love chilli just as much as I loved Chase, I would be crying as I poured chilli on my mango if I was the MC.
I liked more the dilf route than I thought at first, he's just tired man. Also, I love the fact that it showed us that the MC actions could have consequences she might not be ready to handle, it made the game a little bit spicer.
At the end I sympathized with the MC ngl, I would lose my shit too if I had to eat as if I was stuck in england my entire life.

WOW, just wow. At first, I thought it was gonna be a usual Otome game(i rlly like the art style omg-) BUT, BUT THEN IT WAS NOT?! The first route i completed was Chase(hes so cute i luv him) and like- I was ready for a typical happy ending(i couldn't be more wrong) so when the mc said that she's gonna kill him, i was...FLABERGASTED, to say the least??JAJA (my face was these emojis:π§π¦ππ¨) i did all the routes and aaAAH SO GOOD SO YUMMY. I also liked Adrian, he's a lil crazy but that's okay,well i LOVE THIS GAME(also does Phil know we killed his dad??) anyways i didn't expect that plot twist but like I said I really enjoyed the game!!

The short answer is yes, Phil knows you killed his dad, or at least suspects it.
MC never gets caught for any of her crimes so there's no confirmation for Phil, but the teen that gives MC the food in the special end is Phil. He talks about how his household has leftover fish because his father doesn't like it. The thing is, his father is dead (because.... we killed him, oops) so the only reason he's sharing that information with MC is because he knows MC knew that Callum didn't like fish.
Yeah it's a bit of a stretch but basically that's it. MC doesn't really remember Phil because at that point she's gone through a lot of people and Phil probably looks different from what she remembers. I've considered making a mini sequel to this game where you play as Phil and try to bust the MC, but time... and resources... *dies*

Phil has great grandparents he'll be fine π (copium). We never really considered the scale or how long MC goes for because our brains just wanted to finish the game LOL, so yeah anything past this game will be new if we ever do anything else with it.
In terms of making games, I think it'll be quite hard for the three of us to come together and do something like this again because of our cursed schedules. Individually, we might make something of our own(?) but that's also up in the air. I won't speak for the other two.
I'll be making a short shitpost game for SuNoFes 2023. iamsomebody 6 and me are also picking up the RPGMaker game we ditched 2 years ago because of our bet. Neither of these games will be otome, or have anything to do with romance (because frankly speaking romance is my kryptonite), but if you liked the humour in this game then maybe the other games are also up your alley. The game is pretty long for a game jam because it just so happened that we were on holiday during this period of time, so we had a lot more time to work on it. The chance that this could happen again is pretty low imo so if you want to see something like this again, it's time to make prayers and sacrifices to whatever gods you know- (joke)
I'm also glad that you think the development was written very nicely, because to be very honest I wrote it while running on four hours of sleep on the last day of the jam π€‘. Anyway once again thank you so much for your good comments. It really means a lot to us.

Was not expecting that twist, even still I enjoyed the game a lot. I had to literally step away from a solid 5 minutes. My favorite character would have to be Adrian. Love his good ending. Also, Callum is just......that's just wrong.

AHH! Sorry for a late reply, you may never even see, but I will still explain myself. I just felt bad throughout Callum's route (I went for Adrian first since he's what drew me to the game design wise). So I knew going in, poor Phil.

Yeah, Callum's route is probably the saddest in the sense that he didn't deserve it the most. The decision to do that was mine, kinda. The whole theme we had (or I had) while producing this game was "we support women's rights AND women's wrongs" so I wanted to make the MC absolutely irredeemable.
I think with both Chase and Adrian's routes you could argue that the MC was somewhat justified (Chase being an ass and Adrian being... Adrian), so I wanted a route where you couldn't argue that at all. Sorry Phil, but sacrifices must be made for the greater good. π

HAHAHA genuinely when I got a notification of this comment I thought we had found someone that hated this game. But before anyone else downvotes the above comment, OP actually gave our game a 5 star rating.
Even though the game's content is quite contestable, we thank you for playing the game and hopefully you enjoyed it to some extent!
Oh sorry if my comments misleading. I love it but I disagree it at the same time. I play Chase route (since he is my typical type I love in every otome I play) but then the ending? I was like what why would adkdkdisosk????? I don't want to spoil for those who haven't yet play it. I love it but at the same time whyyyyyy Chaseee

I went in fully blind (great decision) and I got Chase's Neutral Ending first, so I truly thought it was just a regular lovely dating sim game ... until I got Chase's Good Ending and my jaw dropped. Didn't expect it one bit (in hindsight maybe I should have lol) but it was so well done! The characters are very interesting (and so pretty, I love the art styles!!) and the writing felt so natural. I truly had such a fun time playing it. (still recovering from Adrian's Good Ending tho ...omg)
ALSO reading about the development and concept of the game in the bonus was super interesting!! Thank you for sharing :)
Oh my god thank you so much for all the good feedback about our game aaaaa- Especially the parts about the writing: personally I was very concerned if it flowed well, especially since we didn't really have the time to revise concepts or edit due to the 2 week limit we had (and also because I just don't have any experience) so hearing this makes me really happy.
Also thank you for mentioning the post-game content because I cannot believe (in a good way) that someone actually completed the whole game to get to that. Anyway your comment made my heart very full and I'm super happy you enjoyed our game!!!!
